CONFESSIONS OF AN ARTIST

by PHILOMENA HARMSWORTH

Philomena has always revered the post-impressionists most: 'Van Gough, for the momentum of his application and treatment of paint, Toulous Lautrec for the characters he captured, the bright lively coulours and lightness of Matisse, and the high contrast of Monet's early work.'

She graduated from Wimbledon College of Art taking the 'technical arts theatre design' course, after her Foundation Course at Camberwell College of Arts.

Philomena then spent time designing and building sets for fringe theatre and painting scenery on epic film movies.

She has also set up art workshops for various age groups: 4-11 year olds, adults, and teenagers at the training college NACRO.

She is coming back to the fine arts and hopefully we'll see a lot more of this energetic, passionate painter whose enthusiasm and zest for life is infectious.
