David's most recent work is in oil on canvas and was painted in Guadeloupe during a four month stay in the Caribbean; it features two metre large luminous fruit and palm trees with figures. There is great energy about these paintings. The figures are allegorical and follow on from his previous work which also includes conversations between figures.

Previously David has been working in ink and watercolour on paper; the speed of this medium was developed during his period as artist in residence at Garsington Opera. Skilled in drawing architecture as well as light in the landscape David has become well known for his exhilarating use of this medium.
