Antonia Fraser / Painting

2nd Floor St Michael's Studios, St Michael's Trading Estate

Antonia Fraser studied Art at Greenwich Adult Education College and has been painting in Scotland, London and Dorset for the last fifteen years.  A painting trip to Morocco with Ken Howard (RA, Pres.NEAC) refined her use of colour and strengthened her awareness of pattern.  A journey to South Africa further developed her interest in form and bright, bold, brilliant colours. She then held her first, very successful exhibition in London in 1998 and subsequently received a number of commissions for more paintings.

Antonia Fraser built her studio and re-designed her garden in London which inspired and informed her own work during the years 2006-08.  She also, in 2006, became an artist in residence in South West Ireland and has since travelled to both the Far East and South Africa.

Antonia Fraser is a Colourist in the Scottish tradition but adds the use of free expressive brushwork to augment the effect of colour.  Recurring themes are still lifes, figurative paintings, landscapes and seascapes.

She now lives and paints in Dorset.
